STARMUM APPLICATION
Terms & Conditions
By accessing and using any information on the StarMum Application (hereinafter referred to as “Application”), you are agreeing to comply following Terms of Use:
Declaration:
User hereby gives their voluntary consent to download the StarMum Application (hereinafter referred to as “Application”) on your personal device.
This Application, including all Content present, is the property of Health Research Foundation (HRF) Buea (hereinafter referred to as “Company”) or the source from where the content is taken, and is copyrighted and protected by worldwide copyright laws and treaty provisions. The User hereby agrees to comply with all copyright laws worldwide in the use of this Application and to prevent any unauthorized copying of the Contents. Company does not grant any express or implied rights under any patents, trademarks, copyrights or trade secret information.
User agrees not to in any manner reveal confidential or proprietary information of the Company or any other party, the User becomes privy to by using the Application to any third party.
User agrees not to transfer the rights to access granted to another person.
User may not download, copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, duplicate, publish, create derivative works from any information present on the Application or communicate or make any of the content available to third parties without HRF prior consent.
User agrees not to decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of, or decrypt the Application.
User understands that in spite of the Company’s best endeavors, there is no warranty on behalf of Company that this Application will be free of any viruses.
The Application may contain inaccuracies and typographical and clerical errors. Company reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to correct any errors or omissions in any portion of the Application.
The User understand that this Application is for informational and educational purposes only.
The User understands that the Company reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time in its discretion. User’s continued use of the Application after the posting of any amended terms and conditions by the Company shall constitute User’s agreement to be bound by any such changes. If you do not agree to these changes, please do not use or access (or continue to use or access) the Application.
The User agrees to use this application in accordance with all applicable rules, regulations, and laws.
The User accessing the Application for contributing any content agrees not to reveal any personally identifiable data or sensitive personal information of his/her self or any other person.
The User accessing the Application for contributing any content agrees that such User shall not in any manner reveal confidential or proprietary information of any third party.
Subject to the terms and conditions set forth in these Terms of Use, the Company grants the User a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-commercial, limited right to access the Application and the Content therein. The User shall access the content of this Application only for their own personal use. The User agrees not to interrupt or attempt to interrupt the operation of the Application in any manner.
Application may contain links to other sites and resources provided by third parties, these links are provided for your information only. We have no control over the contents of those sites or resources, and accept no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.
HRF may terminate your access to the Application, with or without notice and without liability to you or any third party, if you fail to comply with the terms and conditions stated herein.
If any of the terms and conditions are held to be invalid by a competent court, User and Company that such terms shall be severed from this agreement and rest of the document continues to stay valid.
User and Company agrees that this Agreement, and any dispute arising from this Agreement, shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Cameroon, excluding any laws that direct the application of another jurisdiction’s laws. In the event of any dispute arising out of or in connection with this agreement, the User and Company agree to attempt in good faith to resolve such dispute through negotiations between them. Where the parties are unable to resolve a dispute by means of negotiation, the dispute shall be finally settled by arbitration conducted in accordance with the rules of the United Nations Commission and International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) as in effect on the Effective Date of this Agreement (the "UNCITRAL Rules"). Such disputes will be resolved by majority decision of three (3) arbitrators as determined herein under the UNCITRAL Rules. The seat of arbitration will be Cameroon.
Data Privacy
Health Research Foundation (HRF) Buea, its subsidiaries, associates and affiliated companies (collectively referred to as “HRF”, “us”, “we”) are committed to process your personal data as per the laws of your jurisdiction. We hereby notify you the following information about your personal data processing -
Personal data elements collected:
Personal data elements such as Name, Personal Email Id, Demographic Information (age, gender, occupation, address, email address, telephone number), Personal Health Information (LMP, Gestational Age, Foetal Movement, ANC Visits, IWC Visits, Infant Birth Weight, Infant Birth Length, Vaccination/Immunization Data), Use History, Feedback Comments on discussion forum.
Mobile number, IMEI number and device ID while downloading and installing the mobile app from Google Play Store.
Purpose of collection:
To enable you to register and access personal health follow-up services
For tracking your health parameters, giving you customized advise based on that and providing content based on questions and history
To contact you for receiving feedbacks, provide support services, etc.
To provide you forum for discussing queries and asking questions related to your interests.
For research purposes
Data Recipients/Accessible to:
The information will be accessible to authorized individuals from HRF internal teams such as Education, Research & Healthcare Team, Human Resources and our authorized cloud service provider.
Data transfer (International):
If necessary, for the above stated purpose, the Personal Data listed above may be transferred to our offices located in Cameroon and to our service providers cloud servers in XXXXXXX.
Data Storage:
Your data will reside on XXXXXX cloud servers located in XXXXX and HRF servers located in Cameroon.
Data Security:
Appropriate measures will be taken to prevent unauthorized access, unlawful processing, unauthorized or accidental loss or destruction of the Personal Data.
Data Retention:
Personal Data that is no longer required to be retained as per legal and business requirements will be disposed in a secure manner.
Data Subject Access Rights:

Changes to Our Privacy Notice
