Privacy Policy for Seagull Smash

Effective Date / Last Updated: August 21, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Seagull Smash ("the Game," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with your use of the Game. Seagull Smash is developed and published by Four Letter Word Games ("the Developer"), operating as an individual developer in the United States. If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, you can contact us at fourletterwordgames@gmail.com.

This policy is written to comply with applicable privacy laws, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the Google Play Families Policy.

1. Summary

We do not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal information ourselves. Seagull Smash contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no developer-operated backend servers.

Local Data: Game progress and local high scores are saved locally on your device only.

Platform Services: The only online features in the Game come from standard platform services—Google Play Games Services and Apple Game Center—used solely for online leaderboards and achievements.

In-App Purchases: Optional purchases are processed entirely by Apple or Google. We never receive or store your payment details.

No Ads: The Game contains no third-party advertising of any kind.

Audience: Seagull Smash is a general-audience game.

2. Information We Collect and Store

2.1 Local Device Data (Non-Personal)

The Game stores basic save data (such as unlocked content, game settings, and local high scores) locally on your device's storage. This data remains on your physical device, is never transmitted to the Developer or any third-party server, and is deleted if you uninstall the Game.

2.2 Unity Engine Technologies

Seagull Smash is built using Unity software. Unity may collect and process basic technical data from your device as necessary to run the engine runtime, diagnose engine crashes, and provide core functionality.

Unity acts as an independent data controller regarding this technical telemetry. You can learn more about how Unity processes data by reviewing the Unity Game Player and App User Privacy Policy.

2.3 Google Play Games Services (Android)

If you choose to sign in to Google Play Games Services to use online leaderboards or achievements, Google collects and processes data such as your Google Account identifier, player ID, scores, and achievement progress in accordance with the Google Play Games Privacy Policy.

2.4 Apple Game Center (iOS / Apple Arcade)

If you choose to sign in to Game Center to use online leaderboards or achievements, Apple collects and processes data such as your Apple ID, Game Center nickname, scores, and achievement progress in accordance with the Apple Privacy Policy.

2.5 In-App Purchases

All optional in-app purchases are managed directly by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Billing details, payment card information, and transaction histories are processed securely by Apple or Google under their respective privacy policies. The Developer never receives, sees, or stores your financial information.

3. How Information Is Used

Because the Developer does not collect personal information directly, we do not use, sell, rent, monetize, or share personal data for any purpose. Any data processed by Google Play Games Services or Apple Game Center is managed solely by those platforms to facilitate leaderboard and achievement features.

4. Children's Privacy and COPPA / Platform Families Policies

Seagull Smash is a general-audience game. It is not specifically directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK), though it may appeal to a mixed audience.

We do not knowingly request or collect personal information from children.

Third-party platform services (Google Play Games Services and Apple Game Center) enforce their own age-gating mechanisms and parental control settings. For child accounts, platform features like public leaderboards are restricted or managed according to Apple's and Google's child privacy settings and applicable laws (such as COPPA).

If you believe a child has provided personal information through a third-party service in connection with the Game, or if you have questions regarding child privacy, please contact Apple or Google directly, or reach out to us at fourletterwordgames@gmail.com.

5. Your Rights Under GDPR (EEA, UK, and Switzerland Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have specific data protection rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR.

Data Controller: Four Letter Word Games (United States).

Exercising Your Rights: Because the Developer does not collect or store personal data, requests to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or export data related to leaderboards or account sign-ins must be directed to the relevant Data Controller:

For Android / Google Play Games data: Google Privacy Policy

For iOS / Game Center data: Apple Privacy Policy

Support Email: If you contact us directly via email for customer support, our legal basis for processing your email address and message contents is our legitimate interest in resolving your inquiry. We use this information solely to respond to you and delete support emails once resolved.

6. Your Rights Under CCPA/CPRA (California Residents)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

No Sale or Sharing: We do not "sell" or "share" personal information (including for cross-context behavioral advertising).

No Database: We do not maintain a database of consumer personal information.

Consumer Requests: Requests regarding account-level data managed by Google or Apple should be directed to those respective platforms. You may also contact us at fourletterwordgames@gmail.com for any privacy-related inquiry.

7. Data Security

Because the Developer does not collect, transmit, or store personal information on remote servers, there is no developer-operated database to breach. Data handled by platform operators (Apple and Google) is secured according to their individual enterprise security standards.

8. Data Retention

The Developer retains no personal data. Local game save data remains on your device until you manually clear app data or uninstall the Game. Platform-level leaderboard data is retained according to Apple’s and Google’s respective retention schedules and can be managed via your Apple ID or Google Account settings.

9. Third-Party Links and Policies

This Privacy Policy does not cover the independent privacy practices of platform providers. Please consult their policies directly:
